Malkah Norwood Humility (A Song of Repentance) [Psalm 51]

“Wish I knew what I know now…”

Humility (A Song of Repentance) [Psalm 51] was written during a season of deep reflection, as I found myself returning to the words of David—not just to read them, but to pray them.

This song is my personal prayer for a heart that remains humble, teachable, and fully surrendered to YHWH. It reflects my desire to choose wisdom over self-reliance, to be cleansed and renewed, and to walk faithfully in His ways.

May it draw you near to the Father's presence. His love makes all things new.

"Show me Your ways. Teach me Your paths."

“The Rock of Salvation, The Ancient Days…”

Great Is YAH, is my response to the greatness and faithfulness of YHWH. Inspired by the words of Psalm 48, this song was written as a declaration of praise, lifting our eyes from the distractions of life to the unchanging character of Elohim.

As I reflected on His loving commitment throughout my own journey, I was reminded that He alone is our Rock, our Salvation, and our everlasting King. Whether in seasons of abundance or uncertainty, He remains worthy of our worship.

This song draws you into wholehearted praise and reminds you that wherever you are—in the city, the countryside, or the quiet places of your heart—Great is YAH, and greatly to be praised.

Malkah Norwood Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning

“The work is almost done…”

Recorded live from our holy convocation on the Feast of Trumpets, “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning" is a negro spiritual from the tribulations of slavery and oppression during a dark time for diasporians in American history. Now, this message is relevant to the strength we must exercise to overcome the darkness of evil with the light of faith.

Beyond religious devotion, the song served as a vital, coded message for enslaved people. The phrase "trimmed and burning" often signaled vigilance and readiness, particularly for those involved with the Underground Railroad.

Malkah Norwood Running Blind (Extended Version)

“Everybody wants to be something special…

Running Blind was written during a season of questioning the voices, ambitions, and patterns that so easily shape our lives. Inspired by the wisdom of Ecclesiastes, it asks a simple but convicting question: Are we truly seeing, or are we running blind?

As I reflected on my own journey, I was reminded that wisdom isn't found in following the crowd, but in walking with discernment and truth.

May it lead you back to a life of discernment, integrity, and truth.

Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
$7.00

This powerhouse negro spiritual was developed in Jordan, the country where its double-encoded meaning was spoken of in the book of Joshua after the Exodus in the Hebrew Bible. The Children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years before a remnant entered into the promised land, establishing the name of YHWH and the law of Moses among their tribes.

The lyrics, "Swing Low Sweet Chariot, coming for to carry me home", also describe the story in Second Kings about a powerful prophet named Elijah who was carried up to the heavens in a whirlwind by fiery chariots. The Prophet Elijah never died and is foretold to return at the second coming of The Messiah in the final battle between good and evil.

International music artist, Malkah Norwood, produces Songs From Tziyon—soulful praises to YHWH, the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth, as told from the Hebrew Bible—in English and Hebrew. Malkah's messages of faith are written from life's tests and triumphs, combining Eastern rhythms, instruments, and Afro-Soul influences gifted through her travels to musicians from Burkina Faso, Nubia, Turkiye, and Israel.
